Recent reports revealed that the Sprint (NYSE:S) is going to offer the Samsung Galaxy S2 on September 16 as it becomes the first mobile service carrier in the United States to offer the popular smartphone from Samsung (SEO:005930 ) in the US market.

With this both AT&T (NYSE:T) and T-Mobile have also revealed that they will also have the Samsung Galaxy S2 in their lineup soon. The upcoming variant of the smartphone that will be offered by the three mobile service providers is considered the slimmest among all the variants offered in the market.

However among all major mobile service providers in the US, Verizon (NYSE:VZ)has announced earlier that it will not include the Samsung Galaxy S2 in its lineup as it already has a wide range of Android smartphones in its lineup.

All three variants of the Samsung Galaxy S2 offered by the three mobile service providers will utilize their respective 4G networks. These variants will also feature a Super AMOLED Plus display screen, 2MP camera in front, and an 8MP camera at the back. All three variants of the Samsung Galaxy S2 will also utilize the Gingerbread Android 2.3 operating system.

The Samsung Galaxy S2 can also be used in recording 1080p videos aside from being able to link to some television units to allow users to view content through a bigger screen. The Sprint variant of the smartphone was dubbed as the Epic 4G Touch and is expected to have a price tag of around $200. The price tag or the delivery dates of the AT&T and T-Mobile variants of the Samsung Galaxy S2 was not yet revealed by either company.

Observers have indicated that the Samsung Galaxy S2 will have to contend with the reported release of the latest version of the iPhone as well as the new Windows Phone software which are set to be released soon. Despite these future rivals, the Samsung Galaxy S2 has proven itself in the international market as around five million units were sold by the company in less than three months.

The Samsung Galaxy S2 was reportedly going to be introduced during an event in New York last Monday but it was postponed by one day due to a hurricane which hit the area.
